David Hilbert Alman matematikçi. 23 Ocak 1862'de Prusya'nýn Königsberg (Kaliningrad) þehrinde doðdu. Ýlk, orta ve yüksek tahsilden sonra 1884'te Königsberg Üniversitesinde doktora çalýþmasýný tamamladý. Ayný üniversitede 1886-92 arasýnda doçent, 1892-93'te profesör, 1893-95 arasýnda ordinaryüs profesör olarak vazife yaptý. 1892'de Küthe Jerosch ile evlendi. Bu evlilikten Franz adlý bir çocuðu oldu. 1895'te Göttingen Üniversitesinde matematik profesörü oldu. Meslek hayatýnýn sonuna kadar b
