Emile Durkheim (15 Nisan 1958 - 15 Kasım 1917), Yahudi kökenli Fransız sosyolog. Modern sosyolojinin kurucusu olarak bilinir. 15 Nisan 1858 yılında Epinal-Loren'de dünyaya geldi. Felsefe öğretmenliği yaptı. 1885 de Almanya'da bulundu Fransa'ya dönüşte yayımladığı makaleler ilgi topladı. 1887 Bordeaux Üniversitesi'nde ders vermeye başladı. 1902 de Sorbonne Edeb
