Fungi hakkında bilgi
Mantar, klorofil taşımayan organizma. Sınıflandırmada bitkiler alemi içinde ele alınmaları bilim adamları arasında uzun yıllar tartışma konusu olmuştur. Başka bitkilerin üzerinde parazit olarak, ölü bitkilerin üzerinde çürükçül (saprofit) veya başka canlılar ile simbiyotik bir yaşam sürdürürler. Mantarların üremesi sporlar yoluyla gerçekleşir.
