J. Kenneth Galbraith Amerikalı iktisat profesörü. Kanada’da 1908 yılında doğdu. Toronto Üniversitesini bitirdi. Ekonomi mastırını Kaliforniya, Berkeley ve Harvard Üniversitesinde yapan Galbraith’in iyi bir kariyeri vardır. Mastırı yaptığı esnada ABD vatandaşı oldu. ABD’de 1960 Cumhurbaşkanlığı seçimleri kampanyasında John F.Kennedy’ye iktisat müşavirliği yaptı. Amerika ve Hindistan hükümetlerinin iktisat politikaları şekillendirilirken fikirlerine baş vuruldu.
