Thomas Reid 1710-1796 yılları arasında yaşamış olan İskoç filozofu. Sağduyu felsefesine çok önemli katkılar yapmış olan Reid, sağduyunun savunuculuğunu yapmış ve her tür bilgiyle bilimin, apaçık ilkelere dayandığını öne sürmüştür. Sağduyusu olan tüm insanların açık ve seçik bir biçimde algıladığını öne sürdüğü bu ilkeler arasında, ona göre, matematiğin zorunlu ilkeleriyle, sağduyunun zihinden bağımsız bir dış dünyanın varolduğunu dile getiren ilkeleri vardır.
