Açılımı “tool for oracle application developers” olan Toad, uygulama geliştirme aracıdır. Bir quest software urunudur. Oracle`in administration/development interace`idir. Toad`ı kullanarak kullanıcılar, PL/SQL paketlerini , prosedürlerini , trigger` larını ve fonksiyonlarını inşa edebilir,test edebilir ve debug yapabilirler.Toad kullanıcıları , tables, views, indexes, constraints ve users gibi veritabanı objelerini yaratabilir ve değiştirebilirler. Toad`ın SQL Editörü script ve sorguları (query) etkili ve kolayca yazıp test etme imkanı sağlar ve güçlü veri grid`leri Oracle verisini görüntüleyip işlem yapma işini kolaylaştırır. 
Toad da şunlar yapılabilir:


  • Create, browse, veya alter objects (tables, views, indexes, etc.)
  • Graphically build, execute, ve tune queries
  • Edit ve Debug PL/SQL ve "stored procedures" (functions, packages, ve triggers)
  • Objeleri arama (search)
  • Constraints, triggers, extents, indexes ile veritabanı problemlerini bulup düzeltmek ve Toad`ın direkt Oracle OCI a€˜nin Oracle API için full access çağırmalarını (calls) kullanmasına izin vermek

  1. (noun) Any one of numerous species of batrachians belonging to the genus Bufo and allied genera, especially those of the family Bufonidae. Toads are generally terrestrial in their habits except during the breeding season, when they seek the water. Most of the species burrow beneath the earth in the daytime and come forth to feed on insects at night. Most toads have a rough, warty skin in which are glands that secrete an acrid fluid.
