Hang, ilk kez 2000 yılında İsviçre'de üretilen bir müzik aletidir.

"Hipnotik bir çalgı" olarak nitelendirilen Hang, Bern dilinde ve Macarca'da "el" anlamına gelmektedir. Hang'i iki İsviçre vatandaşı, Sabina Scharer ile Felix Rohner, dünyanın farklı bölgelerinde gerçekleştirdikleri uzun araştırma ve incelemeler sonucunda bir perküsyon enstrümanı olarak üretmişlerdir.

Tamamen çelikten üretilen Hang, kucağa yerleştirilip, el ve parmaklar kullanılarak çalınır. İdiofon'lar grubuna giren enstrümanın, arp, gong ya da armonik tınıları andıran bir sesi vardır. Yüzeyinde bulunan küçük çukurlara vurularak titreşim yoluyla farklı sesler ve notalar elde edilir.

Yaratıcıları, 2000 ile 2005 yılları arasında 45 kadar farklı model geliştirmişlerse de çalma konusunda henüz oturmuş bir kural ya da yönteme sahip olmayan Hang için, Endonezya ve Güney Hindistan'a uzanan bir araştırma yapılmış. Vurmalı çalgılar ustaları Davide Swarup, Reto Weber, Manu Delago gibi isimler Hang kullanır. Özellikle Swarup, "Hang ustası" olarak tanınmaktadır. İtalyan asıllı sanatçının, 2007 Mart ayında çıkardığı "Music For Hang" adlı bir albümü de var. Enstrüman, yılda sadece 400 adet kadar üretilip, iki yıl sonrasına verilen teslim tarihiyle yaklaşık 700 Euro'dan satılmakta olup, üzerine airbrush tekniğiyle desenler işlenebiliyor.
