Euclid M.Ö. dördüncü yüzyılın ikinci yarısında yaşayan Yunan matematikçisi. Geometri üzerine yazdığı Elemanlar isimli eseriyle Ünlüdur. Bu eserde verilen malzeme tamamen yeni olmayıp, daha önceki Pytogorean Hippocrate ve Eudoqus gibi yazarların eserlerinden alınmıştır. Ancak bunların matematiksel bir sıraya konması ve böylece ele alınması kendisine aittir. Her ne kadar eser genel olarak geometri üzerinde ise de, geometrik cebri ve sayılar teorisini ele alan kısımlar da vardır. Eserde yeni
